ABOUT DR. LESHNER

EDUCATION
Dr. Leshner earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2011. Prior, she obtained a master’s degree in General Psychology from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Towson University.
EXPERIENCE
Throughout her graduate education, Dr. Leshner received top-notch clinical training at a variety of sites, including a university mental health clinic housed in a rescue mission, a community mental health clinic, and multiple Veterans Administration (VA) settings. Dr. Leshner completed a one-year APA-accredited internship at the VA Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center as well as a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center, where she specialized in serious mental illness. She spent her early career working for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System where she served as a VA staff psychologist as well as the Psychology Director of Training. In these roles, she worked with diverse veterans with a wide variety of different concerns and oversaw the education and training of psychology students obtaining supervised professional experience.

In addition to seeing clients in private practice, Dr. Leshner supervises psychology students as an adjunct faculty member at Pepperdine University. She also works as a consultant tutoring individuals to help them prepare for the national psychology licensure exam.
CREDENTIALS
Dr. Leshner has been a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY 25426) for over ten years, and is registered to practice telehealth in Florida as well. She is VA-certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Depression, as well as Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. She has completed specialty training in prenatal and postpartum mental health, and is currently completing certification in Perinatal Mental Health.
